Update

Been tired, feels like I’m coming down with the flu or cold so I’m trying to keep warm and eat to keep healthy. I’ve got a lot going on with outings and work as well as an upcoming engagement party where I have absolutely no idea what I’m wearing and how I’m doing my hair and makeup. I don’t plan on spending money so I’m trying to come up with new ideas with what I already got, but at the same time make it look a like brand new outfit.

I know I’ve been rather slack on the blogging part which I love and I want to update more often. As of the moment I’m pretty tied full with a busy schedule but I’ll be letting up soon so I’ll definitely blog more when that time comes, hopefully next week.

Thank you to all my current followers for their support and when I reach 50 followers I will do my first giveaway just like everyone else is doing. I’m already slowly hauling products and other little things for the giveaway in the near future.

Currently I plan to blog about in the near future in no particular order…

Winter Wonderland White Party @ Metro City

It was a white party event and like any other year it was time to go out and have fun while dressing in white. Welcome winter!

At first I didn’t plan to attend, but I don’t know how I ended up there. I think my friends kind of persuaded me to attend with them and so that’s how I ended up dressing up that Saturday night. I had a wonderful night with my favourite girlfriends and I’m glad they made me come in the end. I danced until my legs and feet were so sore I had trouble walking back to the car. I actually danced so much I gave myself two blisters, one on each foot. They killed and then mum made me dip my feet in warm water which hurt even more but was great afterward.

I was pretty happy with my makeup that night, it lasted a whole 5 hours and with all the sweating and only a bit of blotting with blot papers the makeup didn’t budge or melt off my face. The eyeshadows was like the way it was when I first finished it.

Nothing dramatic, something soft, pure, innocent and simple. I was going for like a snow princess kind of look.

Yes those are my natural lashes with mascara on. They are not false lashes.

Curled my hair with the straighener because it was the fastest method for last minute dates.

I am wear Circle lens, can't remember the exact make and name of colour. Will look it up if anyone is interested. Just drop me a note in the comment section.

Pouting doesn't suit me at all :(

Horrible Batman Inspiration – Manly 120 Palette Look #4

Had been a while since I last posted and I’m sorry for the delays but work got a bit hectic all of a sudden and I magically had a whole pile of folders I had to get though.

Anyway here is my Manly 120 Palette look #4. It is by far the most horrible and hideous look I’ve ever done in my entire life. I was watching a batman movie late Sunday night and when it finished I had an urge to play around a bit before I headed to bed. Well let say this Batman inspiration is not the best inspiration ever, it turned out so wrong in my opinion but none the less it is a look.

I used the gold, black and silver from the palette so nothing particular about the colours, in fact it doesn’t even sound like a bad combination. However in this look it turned out a bit horrible.

Well here are the photos….

EOTD – Manly 120 Palette Look #3

Today I wore something I would never in my life thought I wear to work. However I was feeling rather good so I thought something new for work would be alright. The sun wasn’t even up when I woke up so I had to stick to artificial lighting. Unfortunately the winter season is definitely here and looks like I won’t be seeing much sun for a while.

Anyway I came up with the idea of doing looks using the colours from the Manly 120 Palette I bought a long while ago but never used. It seemed fun and it put my value worth to a good use.

I was never a big fan of gold when it came to eyeshadow. Not that I don’t like the colour. It’s a glamorous/elegant kind of colour; it actually reminds me of red carpet moments. However I never really thought it suited me or how to use it in a flattering way. Thus I experimented this morning since I woke up earlier than I usually would.

The colours used for this look was not complicated.
Gold
Brown
White

You can use whatever eyeliner and mascara you want, since they aren’t really that much of a big deal. However I did use a gel liner if you were wondering, it is a no name brand one I got from Hong Kong. It doesn’t run as smooth as the MAC or Bobbi Brown ones, but it was dirt cheap. Just a little too try compared to the brand names one, but I can work with it.

I put white on one third of the inner corner of the eye lids and then gold all over the rest of it. I used the brown to the outer v and to line the crease a little to give it more definition. Then I used the same white to highlight by dragging it down into the gold and brown, blending to soften the harsh lines. I also liner the lower lash with the gold to brighten up the eyes and then with gel liner I liner the upper line with a bit of a flick and the lower water line as well.

Excuse the red eyes, I didn’t sleep much and it was early since I woke up all of a sudden for absolutely no reason.

Sorry about the bad brows as well. Haven’t filled those in yet so they look really messy.

I used Chi Chi 3D magic lash mascara to finish the look. I think I still got to improve on lining my eyes. It’s pretty shocking what they turn out to look like. I guess I just can’t do lines very well.

Comments and tips are definitely welcome :)

EOTD – 120 Manly Palette Creations #2

I’ve already done a green one and thought that from now on I’ll try doing EOTDs with the Manly 120 Palette that I always neglect. I think the palette itself is not that bad but I always forget about it until I start cleaning my makeup.

Anyway today I got home from work a little earlier than usual, so I took a shower and changed into something comfortable. Mum had only begun cooking so dinner looked pretty far away. I cleaned up my room a bit by picking up some clothes and putting away my makeup. So what after that?

I got bored, nothing on TV that I wanted to watch and no emails and didn’t feel like facebook or chatting online. What is better than playing with eyeshadows and so I came up with the idea of the 120 Manly Palette Creations. It seems fun and I think I would enjoy it when I have nothing better to do. This way I’ll have more eye looks to share with everyone and using something that is affordable.

Today wasn’t planned and thought I try some of the nice blues that were available, but however it turned out a little different to what I had in mind.

The colours used for this look are circle below in white, so if you don’t own this palette you can see and use substitutes that you have.

Hair was messy so i put my hood on since I was too lazy to fix it.

Fail cut crease!

so many dots on my face :(

should I had done the eyeliner thicker?

i edited this photo a little bit, just some contrast and colour balance in Photoshop. That's why this photo doesn't look so warm or yellow as compared the ones above.

Playing with the camera

I’ve been playing around with my camera and actually learning all the functions to help improve the quality of the photos. So far I’ve been pretty slack and just played around with how to take better photos of products for you guys. I’m not looking to spend much money because I’m not using some professional camera.

People had recommended a white photo box and lots of lighting, but I’m not sure I can be bothered spending the extra money on buying the stuff to either makes it or whatever. Instead I just took the idea of the white background and tested the camera with it. Using flash and using the white background to reflect light.

Here are some sample photos of what I’ve done so far.

I found some turned out quite yellow because of the light I used for my Vanity table. I’m thinking whether to invest in a white light instead, but decision not yet made. I mean sales are on so I may be able to find something cheap, but are it good enough to help improve the colour of the photos?

I found some turned out good and some didn’t, but I’m getting somewhere because I can see the colour and quality improvement in some of the photos already.

Does anyone else have any tips or suggestions?

Chi Chi haul and Nail Polishes Swatches

I extended the poll on the left at the top for another 2 weeks so please don’t forget to vote.

Just wanted to share some photos of some Chi Chi products I picked up at Myer, using my free $20 beauty and skincare gift voucher when I bought my Lancôme stuff. I didn’t want it to go to waste so I might as well use it up.

I’ve never tried false eyelashes before so I’m going to change that and my first falsies are from Chi Chi. Not cheap I tell you but it does say you can use them up to 6 times if they are cleaned properly.

I got 2 pairs of the bat lashes (Full lashes)

And 2 pairs of the cat lashes (Demi Lashes)

I can’t wait to try them out, but I wonder how well I will be able to put them on without gluing my eyes together.

Next were just 4 nail polishes and I know I’ve never been a big fan of nail polishes but I thought why not. I did some swatches on the false nails left over from my mum’s kit.

The abnormally oversized nails that is, I couldn’t’ believe how big they come in and thought they be some good props to test the polishes.

I bought “Single White Female” and “Walk the Walk”

I also picked out “Merman” and “Moondust”

While I’m on the subject of nail polish I like to share two recent ones that I bought but didn’t mention.

Covergirl boundless colour 515 “Megawatt Mauve” and Rimmel I (heart) lasting finish 199 “Go Cobalt”

The last thing I picked was nothing new, it just Maybelline’s great lash mascara, but the waterproof one since it is winter and that means rain. Just to be one the safe side I want something that is waterproof, I’m definitely up for the experience of having mascara run down my cheeks.

Completely irrelevant to beauty, I picked up some really cute star lights from a cheap store and they call them mood changer. It’s really just lights that changes colour, but I thought they were cute and thought I would share. They currently sit on my Vanity table on either side of the mirror.
