Bourjois Paris Smokey Eyes Palettes

I’m back to share some new products I bought and since then I haven’t bought another makeup product. Been at least 2 or 3 weeks now I think… so far so good…

Learning to reduce my spending and try to just live with what I own and I have to say I own a lot!

Bourjois Smokey Eyes Palettes comes in three different set of 3, I only got two since the other one was sold out at the store I got them from. I only remember paying half the price they normally sell it for so I thought it was alright to give myself a treat.

04 Nude Ingenu, 05 Rose Vintage
I bought 04 Nude Ingenu (browns) and 05 Rose Vintage (Pinks), however I have to be very honest after testing them. They’re not particularly great and I’ve seen reviews on them that were not very favourable towards this product. The pigmentation was alright, nothing great but lacking in some way. I’ve noticed that the lightest colour in both of them don’t really show up or have much pigmentation. They’re all shimmer base eyeshadow so there isn’t any love for matte colours.

The texture of the eyeshadows is smooth, but blending is such a pain that I would probably not use them much. You heard me right; I found blending the eyeshadow was harder than most drugstore eyeshadows. I know for a fact that it wasn’t because I wasn’t blending enough, I was blending like crazy but it just doesn’t really blend well at all.

Here are some swatches I did…

Top line is without any base or primer.

Second line is with Elf Mineral eyeshadow primer.

Third line is with NXY Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.

Anyway I went ahead and did an eye look with Nude Ingenu and here is how it turned out.

Maybelline Define-a-lash Waterproof Mascara (for lower lashes)

How do you guys like the new borders I add to the pictures?

Is anyone interested in seeing some swatches of e/s and gel liners from Inglot?

Should I do an update on my new makeup organisation?

Anyway thanks everyone single one of my followers for their continuous support :)

I’ve finally collected my stuff for the giveaway and it will be launched on 31 January, because that day will mark my one year blog anniversary. Keep an eye out for that date and come back to enter :)

I Chopped It Off!

You may know I planned to cut my hair some weeks before. Well I got it last week on Friday and like the title say… I chopped it off.

It may not look super short but when you compare the before and after picture you’ll realise… she really did chop a lot of it off. I just got a typical A-line cut, but not so short it looks like a bob. It’s refreshing but I will admit I miss my long hair and my curling iron will be extremely neglected and lonely. I think I will need to pack it away for when my hair is finally at a suitable length again.

Short hair for the beginning of the year!

I also got my hair lightened a little bit compared to the previous colour, but not so light that it looks odd.  Surprisingly it still looked natural in a way, but has a nice red kind of tint to it when I stand out in the sun.

Typical A-Line cut where the back is shorter and the front is longer

So what do you guys think?

Should I have kept my long hair?

Does shorter hair suits my round face?

Maybe I look older now that my hair is short?

Oh yeah do you like how i put borders on my photos?  Does it look better?

Favourite Makeup List

Hello! Long time no blog and I know I have been lazy and naughty for not updating. I am thoroughly enjoying my holiday before school starts again in February. However I appreciate everyone who emailed me and asked if I was ok, thank you for your lovely concerns :)

Anyway I’ve been asked a couple of questions so I thought I would just answer all of them in one post. Today (as you may have noticed the title) I am here to share my favourites in some makeup category and hope that I’ve answered your questions.

Just note that all products are not listed in any order…

drugstore brands seem to dominate my favourite mascara :)
  CoverGirl – Lash Blast

Chi Chi – 3D Magic Lash

Maybelline – Great Lash Mascara

Majolica Majorca – Lash Gorgeous Wing

Fairy Drop Mascara

Maybelline – The Falsies Volum’ Express (New favourite at the moment)

The Sana primer can be found from Sasa or places that sells japanese brand makeup
 Eve Pearl – Priming Mosturizer

NP Set – Pre-foundation Skin Primer Set

Eve Pearl – Salmon Concealer Trio

You probably noticed that my list consist of both high end and drugstore products. I'm the type of person who like to find affordable products that are still good quality to use. However there are always time I can’t resist and splurge a little on the more expensive brands.

If you would like to request for a more detailed review or swatch on a certain product you’re interested in. Please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below and I’ll try and get it done ASAP.

If there are any other questions you would like to ask please comment below or if you’re more comfortable emailing me then please don’t hesitate either.

Update: Currently gathering items for the giveaway since my 1  year anniversary is coming up :)  Planning how to improve my blog, also trying to cut down on my spending and try to just live with what I have (going to be tough)

Recap of school in 2010 and recent creations

Finally doing an actual post and I thought today I would share some work I’ve done when I was studying makeup last year in October to December. It was tough for me to go back to school since it been years since I’ve graduated from university. However this sort of schooling was a complete different experience. Mostly practical so it was a lot of practising at home to get things right. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and I’m definitely looking forward to the new course that is starting early February.

These beautiful eyes belongs to my good friend Astrid.  She has eyelashes that doesn't need to be curled!

Final Assessment was Bridal Photoshoot makeup!  Here is the finished product and hair is also by me :)

Now on to two recent creations I’ve done in my spare time, however my creative mind is not working.  It’s still on holiday and hasn’t returned to me yet which is quite upsetting for me.  No matter how much I want to play with makeup because I have free time at the moment, nothing ever comes to mind and things don’t turn out the right way.

Always had loved purple so first EOTD for 2011

Used Inglot Eyeshadows

Both of these were created on the same day when I was bored and could finally get something to turn up right

To finish off the post is a reminder to everyone that no one is perfect and I am definitely not perfect.  We’re all beautiful in our own way regardless if we wear makeup or not.  So here I share with you the very first naked photo of my face for 2011.

Fresh out of the shower with hair still wet.  Feeling quite naked :p
