Jesse's Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dusts Swatches

I actually owned these Jesse's Girl Eye Dusts for a year now and I just forgot about ever doing swatches of them.  I first heard the name of this brand when I was watching one of Youtube Guru JulieG's video.  Therefore I am not affiliated with Jesse's Girl and these pigments/eye dusts are not free.  I purchased them with my own money.

Anyway there is a total of 28 shades int he collection and checking their website it haven't changed.

http://www.jessesgirlcosmetics.com/

These eye dusts can be purchased from the website or if you live in the US they are available in some Rite Aid Stores (I think).

Pricing According to Website (Does not include shipping charges):

$4.99 each
2.5grams of product in a plastic jar with sifter

I purchased the the whole lot for:

$92.50 for all 28 shades
(Roughly $3.30 each)

However I know there are people who may not want all the shades so purchasing them individually may suit them better.  They also sell other cosmetics on the website so you can check them out and I previously done swatches for their Star Dust Powder Eyeshadows which you can view here if you haven't so:

Jesse's Girl Star Dust Powder Eyeshadows

Hope these swatches help, they're wonder pigments and are of great quality.   They're smooth and soft, even the ones that were more glittery were smooth and not chunky.  These swatches are done without a base so if you do use a base then the pigmentation would be greater and it'll grip the pigments better as well.  For those that look rather more glittery a stickier base would be highly recommended.

Savvy by DB and SHE Loose Pigments Swatches and Review

I’m pretty sure you’ve seen that I’ve been buying Savvy’s Loose Mineral Eyeshadow when they go on sale for $2.99. Well with no surprise I picked up another 3 colours to share with you guys.

Swatches as usual…

Savvy by DB Mineral Loose Eyeshadows

Without Flash

I’ve have been loving these loose eyeshadows because they’re cheap and good stuff. The pigmentation as the same the ones from before are great and it’s not large chunks but nice soft and smooth texture which is easy to blend. Packaging is as per normal like any other jar that carries pigments and loose powders.

On the other hand I am for the first time using a cosmetic and beauty brand called SHE. I always walk pass the displays in Priceline without much of a glance and because they were on sale I end up buying two of their colourful pigments. The exact name for them is SHE Australia Dusting Powders for those of you who are curious. So yet this is another Australian brand and I’m happy to test something that is local.

Let’s start off with swatches.

SHE Dusting Powders

Wihtout Flash

First of all love the packaging and even though it is just a typical jar, I love who it is completely clear. Pigmentation of these dusting powders is lovely and with a base the colours are even more vivid than without. The pigments are quite fine and very smooth and soft when applied to the eyes. However I won’t say that blending them is great. They do blend but with some careful blending work.

These however are more expensive than the Savvy ones even at full price (which I had forgotten because I loose the receipt the minute I get home). Then again the colour range is not huge and the colours are a huge different from the ones that Savvy produces.

So that’s what I thought with a bit of comparison between the two brands.

What do you guys think?

Organisation Tip #1

Hi guys I’m thinking of starting a small series where I post about some tips on organisation for makeup and beauty products. It’s kind of like updating once in a while when I find new ways to organise my makeup.

Anyway I thought I share this with you guys and I’m pretty sure you’ve seen other people do them too. I was shopping and I popped into the shop Thingz temporary sale store to have a quick browse. I never thought I would come out buying cutlery trays for $4.99 each. They only had 3 so I only bought 3, but it would have been great if I could have gotten another 2 or 3 more of these trays. The quality is really good and the size of the tray is great too.

It has the grip on the bottom so I didn’t lay out my own grips to stop products from sliding all over the place. Originally I don’t like using my blue drawers under my table, because the products would be sliding all over the place and it was hard to use to organise small objects like eyeshadows and pigments.

This little simple cutlery tray did the trick, it is a perfect fit in the tray and a great size for storing eyeshadows and pigments too!

Only $4.99

They’re handy because if you’re every changing the organisation around you can just pull out the whole tray and the makeup neatly organised is still going to be neatly organised as it was.  I love this new find and will be looking out for more trays and containers to use as storage for my growing collection.

Here are some photos of how I used them.

Eve Pearl, Majolica Majorca, Jesse's Girl, MSCHIC, NYX, Savvy, Bourjois, Prestige, etc

Most of my eyeshadows are stored neatly into the sections of the cutlery tray and I like how it is so easy to grab what I need instead of flipping through drawers to find what I want.

Jesse's Girl Pigments, Sleek, NYX

This one is my absolute favourite!  Majority of the pigments are all in here now instead of my little black office drawers on my table.  I even turned them upside down and sideways so I can see the colours and grab the ones I want without having to flip through.

MSCHIC Face Canvas, Eve Pearl Anti-shine, MSCHIC pigments, Facial Cream

I used the third tray to store a bit of my pigments that didn’t fit into the other tray, but also my primers, powder, concealer, blushes, creams and liquid liners and sample size mascaras.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post and hopefully it gives you guys and idea on how to store your makeup.

Sleek Eye Dust Pigments

Back again with another little review and some swatches to share with you all. I haven’t tried anything from the Sleek range of makeup, but I have heard people rave about their eyeshadow palettes. However I am not as fortunate to try out their palettes yet, but I did find their Eye Dust pigments and thought I give it a try. Some had reviewed them and love them so I guess I should give them a shot too.

I have to say, my opinions are not exactly the same as others, and I found they left out something very important when reviewing them.

I ended up getting the 9 colours available on the Crush Cosmetics website not too long ago. They are still having a 20% off on selected items and Sleek Eye Dust was one of them. Original price selling on Crush Cosmetics is $10.95 AUD each, but with 20% off it is only $8.76 AUD.

I’ve done some swatches and you probably realised that the first 3 colours were done on my arm and the rest on a paper towel afterward.

I apologise for changing the way I swatched, but this is a one time circumstance because after swatching the first three colours I had trouble removing the colours completely from my arm. Makeup remover did not get rid of the entire colour and even after washing with hand wash there was still some dark marks remaining.

I couldn’t believe how badly they stained my arm! I just couldn’t swatch the rest of the colours on top because I find that mixing the colours won’t be showing the true colours of the eye dust. And if it not coming off one arm I’m not staining the other arm. Thus that is the reason for swatching on a paper towel instead. Please forgive me for changing and hopefully the paper towel swatches are considered good enough in your eyes when viewing.

First off, the pigment looked a bit thick to me, but when I applied it is definitely not rough or lumpy. In fact it is very silky smooth and the pigmentation with and without a base was great! The loose eye shadow is very shimmery and glittery.

That aside, it is also a major fall out disaster! So be careful when applying or you’ll end up with hands and clothes full of glitter. It’s not fun and it’s definitely not easy getting glitter off. Beside the super glitter effect and the fall out they’re not bad, but definitely not my type of thing. I go nuts when there is lots of fall out and the glitter just gets all over the place. Oh before I forget Sleek should invest in better sifter stickers because their one totally don’t work. A couple of them were spilling with pigments when I opened them. I found the stickers over the sifter holes aren’t at all that sticky at all hence the reason why they slip and come pouring out.

I will have to find a good way to use them though, and I’m pretty sure I will if I use them more often. Thank you Crush Cosmetics for the free sample of Coastal Scent eye shadow sample in Cool White Satin.

Anyway just want to share something that is new to me…

Crush Cosmetics is an Australia based online store, who also sells internationally so be sure to check out their shipping prices for international sales. The customer service here is great and the prices they offer for the products they hold is not over priced. They stock brands like Sleek, Milani, NYX, Barry M, Ardell, ELF, Lime Crime, Urban Decay and etc. Check their website for further information or brands they keep in stock.

http://www.crushcosmetics.com.au/

I find that it’s a great online store for those who live in Australia in particular, because they hold brands like NYX, Milani and Urban Decay Primer potion that us Australians cannot buy in stores. The service is great and the shipping is fast. Great deal for Australians when your order is $60 AUD or more, you’ll receive free shipping! And for international buyers, when you spend $40 USD or more you’ll receive a flat rate of $8 flat rate for shipping.

For any questions check out their FAQ section or email them and Lina will reply you personally as soon as possible. Not sure if you want to purchase from them? Check out the customer reviews/testimony they other buyers had left for them. I was very satisfied with the order I placed and will purchase from them again in the future.

NOTE: I am not advertising for Crush Cosmetics! I am merely stating my opinion about them and my experience with them. Crush Cosmetics does not pay me to do this.

Beauty Style Haul from Priceline, yet another cheap makeup brand

I am back again with a second cheap makeup brand review that I picked up from Priceline. That’s right; I’m hunting around and most of the time at Priceline for cheap affordable makeup to buy. I have to tell you now, this brand is good and I’m not sure if you remember but I bought some false eyelashes from this brand maybe a month or two ago and haven’t tried them yet.

Yet again it was a sale and this time Beauty Style was having a 5 for $10 AUD on their “Petites: range so I went rummaging through the display. There isn’t much in this range and the Priceline I was at didn’t carry much of this range either. However two products caught my eyes, the Luxe Dust and the Glitter Cream Eyeshadow.

Luxe Dust is loose eyeshadow pigments and the packaging is so cute because it’s so small. Each plastic container contains 1.44g/0.05 oz of product in them which is alright for the price of $2.99 each otherwise like me I bought 5 colours that they had at that time for $10 AUD. BARGAIN! And I will tell you why by showing the swatches first!

So what did you guys think on first impression after seeing the swatches with and without a base?

The pigments are very fine and not lumpy or thick like some cheap eyeshadow pigments. The texture of it is silky smooth when applied onto the skin and look at how pigmented they are! I was liking them more as I swatched them on my arm. I can’t believe how well the colours pay off is from this brand. In my mind I instantly thought good value.

Now there were a couple of little things I didn’t like about them and it wasn’t the pigments themselves. It’s to do with the packaging. Sure the plastic bottle is super cute, but they put the name of the colour on the plastic wrapping that you peel off to open. Not very smart I have to say, so little me decided to get some white labels and cut them in half and write the name of the colours on them and then stick it to the bottom of each bottle. Perhaps they should consider putting the name of the shade on the actual bottle itself.

Now the second thing I don’t like is the hole where you deposit the pigments. It’s huge! It’s so hard to pour out small amount of product, because that’s all you need when applying it to your eyes. On my first go I poured out heaps and I was already been very careful. I think it might actually be better if they just didn’t restrict the bottle to such a hole. Maybe leaving the restriction out would be easier to retrieve colour with a brush in stead.

Beside the two things I give these pigments a thumbs up!

The glitter cream eyeshadows are not something very special, but for a price of $2.99 they are well worth the value. These cream eyeshadows are not a part of the “Petites” range so they didn’t have the 5 for $10 special on them. However all year round they’re only $2.99 and they’re very popular. I’m actually missing I think 2 or three colours. These were the only one they had when I was there and there wasn’t many of them. I tested them in the shop first and I thought there were alright so I gave them a shot.

The packaging is lip a lip gloss and even the applicator is like a lip gloss sponge applicator, only the sponge part is longer and flatter. The product actually smells quite pleasant, and it doesn’t have that gross chemical smell that puts people off. Guess that’s a bonus. However I do recommend you to shake the bottle before using it, because I find it applies better and it’s not as wet when applied. Each bottle contains 5g/0.17 oz of product so it’s a pretty decent size.

It’s not lumpy and it’s not hard to blend, however I found the white one (Superstition) doesn’t blend so nicely without a base, so a base makes a different for that one in particular. The others don’t really have much of an affect with or without a base. It felt a bit sticky when it was drying, but I think that’s normal when you’re using cream base eyeshadows. It also doesn’t take forever to dry and when dried it leaves a nice smooth surface, doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing the cream shadow on your skin at all.

I think the pigmentation was pretty good and you only need one dab from the applicator to get good colour pay off. I did realise one thing though and I’m not sure whether it’s odd or not. It dried a tad faster if a base is used for it, and I do recommend a base with it as the colour is a bit more intense since it doesn’t sink into the cracks of the skin and spread.
What do you think of the swatches above?
Do you do think it’s worth the money?
Have anyone else tried these products or any other ones from Beauty Style makeup range?
