EOTD with Chi Chi’s Eye Palette Basic Instinct and my nails for the day

Just one last post for now, I’m so far behind on the updating of this blog that I’m feeling rather guilty but if life is busy then I will just have to find time whenever I can to do a post.

I think I remember seeing a comment about doing some looks with the Chi Chi Eye Palettes that I have acquired recently and here is the first one. I used Basic Instinct since it had more neutral/wearable colours in it. Something suitable to wear on a daily basis.

I didn’t use all the colours in the palette but I did use most of them.

Well here it is….

I also thought I would share you the colours of my nails, which I believe is the first because I don’t have nice nails so I’m self conscious about them. I just thought the colours were nice and winter is slowly coming to an end as spring hits Perth. I can’t wait for the warm weather so I can start wearing some summer colours and pull out the nice summer clothes sitting at the back of my wardrobe.

I used Chi Chi mascara and no eyeliner for this look for those who might be wondering.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and is enjoying their week so far :)

Engagement Cocktail Party LOTN

Saturday 10th July, my friend held her official engagement party and she was absolutely gorgeous in a red dress. Anyway I thought I share a few photos of my look for the night. I kept it simple and rather neutral as well, I didn’t feel like going extreme or colourful for the event. I felt it wasn’t my night to shine, I wasn’t the future bride and thus my look came out like this.

These cakes were so yummy and the best thing of all is that my friend's future-in-laws made them at home.

Here is a before picture with no makeup, I think I didn’t really change that much but I do have to say makeup enhances one’s facial features. Yes those pink things in my hair are Velcro! I’m pretty sure you guys may have seen other people use them or heard of them. They’re very popular in Asian countries and I have to say they are definitely handy when it comes to keeping hair out of you face.

I have so many moles! and my eye bags are so obvious :S
Here is the completed look! Not too much of a change just added a bit of colour to my face. It was night time so the photos aren’t all that great and my room is rather dark.

With no flash, but i can see already the eye bags are not obvious though not completely covered up yet.

With flash......................................

Here is a list of products I used for the look

The Body Shop Face Primer
Revlon Photoready Foundation – 004 Nude
Lancôme Concealer (Refer to previous Lancôme post for more details)
Cover Girl Professional Loose powder – Translucent medium
Maybelline Define-a-brow in soft black
Red Earth perfect eye primer
Manly 120 palette, White shadow
Savvy by DB mineral loose eyeshadow in champagne pink
Prestige single eyeshadow in Sandalwood (Gorgeous neutral brown colour!)
Rimmel Exaggerate eye definer
**Forgot to put on mascara until I reached my friend’s house so I can’t remember what mascara she uses
Chi Chi glitter liner in get down and boogie
Estee Lauder lip conditioner
Cover Girl continuous colour lipstick – 825 In the nude desnudo chair
Noir Blanc lip-gloss in B433

I forgot to take a photo of my complete look, the hair and the dress and everything. So I can’t share that with you guys L

However I did do my friend’s hair for the night, and for some reason I remembered to take photos of that one. I did her hair for her company’s end of financial year ball but I forgot to grab the photos off her since I used her camera last time. Will share that hairstyle with you next time. I personally liked that one better than this one I did for her to wear to the engagement party.

Well I’m off and I apologise for the lack of update. Haven’t really felt like doing much makeup lately. It’s been so cold I just want to eat and sleep to keep warm.

Look of the night (LOTN)

As promised a look for a night of clubbing yet again with the girls! Awesome night, came home early morning and slept through most of Sunday. I’m not even ready for work on Monday! Feet are so sore from all the dancing that I think I’ll be having a hard time walking in heels this week.

Didn’t feel like doing much for the night, straightened my hair and then put on a black dress and some heels. So what makeup did I end up doing? Something simple and something that always works when you’re clubbing.

List of products I used:
The body shop skin primer
Sana Make Essence concealer – light yellow
Revlon New Complexion makeup fond de teint – Natural Beige 04
Covergirl professional loose powder - 115 translucent medium
Red Earth eye perfection primer
Cameleon 36 Colour eyeshadow palette
Shiseido majolica Majorca – lash gorgeous wing BK999
Maybelline define-a-brow – soft black
Suki Shimmer powder
Covergirl continuous colour lipstick – 825 In the nude desnudo chair
Bourjois Effet 3d max lip gloss – 62 Rose Gold

Last night was mostly drugstore products so I’m happy with the look that came out considering I didn’t really have that much time to do it. I was running late so didn’t take that many photos. I’ve picked out the best ones and here they are!

Lastly a photo i edited, what do you think?

Winter Wonderland White Party @ Metro City

It was a white party event and like any other year it was time to go out and have fun while dressing in white. Welcome winter!

At first I didn’t plan to attend, but I don’t know how I ended up there. I think my friends kind of persuaded me to attend with them and so that’s how I ended up dressing up that Saturday night. I had a wonderful night with my favourite girlfriends and I’m glad they made me come in the end. I danced until my legs and feet were so sore I had trouble walking back to the car. I actually danced so much I gave myself two blisters, one on each foot. They killed and then mum made me dip my feet in warm water which hurt even more but was great afterward.

I was pretty happy with my makeup that night, it lasted a whole 5 hours and with all the sweating and only a bit of blotting with blot papers the makeup didn’t budge or melt off my face. The eyeshadows was like the way it was when I first finished it.

Full list of products used are:

The Body Shop Skin Primer Moisturise It Base De Teint Hydrantante

Lancôme Effacernes Longue Tenue – Long-lasting Softening Concealer 01 Beige Pastel

Lancôme Photogenic Lumessence – Light-mastering & smoothing makeup 14H SPF15 01 Beige Albatre

Lancôme Colour Ideal Poudre – Precise Matching Skin-perfecting Pressed Powder 8H Matt Effect 01 Beige Albatre

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-place Eyeshadow Base A78

Cameleon Makeup Collection 36 Colour Professional Eyeshadow Palette

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer – 261 Noir

Maybelline Define-a-brow Soft Black

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara Waterproof – Very Black

Suki 001 Shimmer Powder

Estee Lauder Lip Conditioner

Cover Girl Lipstick – 825 In the Nude Desnudo Chair

Chi Chi – Single White Female Nail Polish

Here are some photos of the look…

Nothing dramatic, something soft, pure, innocent and simple. I was going for like a snow princess kind of look.

Yes those are my natural lashes with mascara on. They are not false lashes.

Curled my hair with the straighener because it was the fastest method for last minute dates.

I am wear Circle lens, can't remember the exact make and name of colour. Will look it up if anyone is interested. Just drop me a note in the comment section.

Pouting doesn't suit me at all :(

EOTD/FOTD & Outfit of the day & new heels

Haven’t updated in a little while, but that long so I guess I’m forgiven?

Been busy at work and by the time I come home and I had dinner and showered, I feel so tired I just want to crawl into bed and sleep. That is exactly the way I did, hence no update for the blog as of recent. However today was a day I go out with two of my favourite girls and it the mid-year sale season so thought we check out what there is on sale? Nothing good so all I ended up buying were a pair of shoes. I’ll share some photos later at the end of this post.

Here is the look of the day, nothing hard and used drugstore products for the eyes.

First off as always do your concealer, foundation and powder as you would. I’ve used Lancôme today since the weather was sunny (until a bit later it got a bit gloomy). After that apply whichever eyeshadow base/primer you like. It doesn’t matter which one, the purpose is always to keep the eyeshadow colours vibrant and to stop it from creasing. For me it is a must otherwise I’ll have yucky oily looking creased shadow eyes.

I used Bourjois eyeshadows today, so you can probably get them from your local drugstore.

#48 Vert Petillant (green) – is used for the inner half of the lids
#17 Prune Intense (purple) – is for the outer half of the lids
#92 Gris Paillettes (greyish/black) – for outer corners of the lids, I think some people call that the outer V?
#16 Ambre Nude (champagne) – inner corner of eyes to brighten it up and a little bit on the brow bones.

After that I finished it off with;

Maybelline – Unstoppable eyeliner/traceur (Onyx)
Fairy Drops Mascara (purchased in Hong Kong from Sasa Cosmetics)

For my lips I kept it simple, just a simple light pink colour.

Maybelline – Color Sensational #005 Pink Sand
Noir Blanc – Lipgloss brillant levres #B433 (also purchased in Hong Kong from Sasa Cosmetics)

Outfit of the day was simple; it wasn’t exactly warm enough to be wearing summer clothes. With winter finally hitting Australia, the weather is beginning to get chilly and especially at night! No more short skirts or dresses, it’s time to pull out the warm clothes and of course the boots!

Can’t have winter without boots ladies! Trendy and they keep your feet warm and dry from the pouring rain.

Anyway felt like wearing something purple-ish, so I ended up with a simple magenta/purple kind of coloured dress and some lace leggings. Finished it with a simple grey cardigan and a nice gold belt. Of course I didn’t forget the boots, just simple flat heel boots that I bought last year from Target, for a bargain of only $30. Perfect for a shopping trip that is going to require a lot of walking and shoving through crowds.

my sexy lace leggings!

Forgot to take a photo with my bag so here it is, just a simple Gucci. Nothing extravagant, practical, holds a lot and it’s in a way still classy. Love this bag heaps and it’s the perfect colour for winter!

So as I was saying earlier, there wasn’t much I liked at the sales. I’m surprised myself because normally I buy heaps during times like these just to save money so I don’t have to pay more for something the same or similar to it. Instead all I ended up with was a pair of shoes that was only slightly discounted. However I fell in love with them.

Shoes are by Verali.
Style name is Grand
And they’re black satin in colour.

Look at how it blings!

So classy!

Definitely love!

FOTD - Purple Amethyst

Just a last post to share my Face of the day with everyone. It was finally a sunny day to start the weekend. It had being pouring like crazy here in Perth, but I guess it was way overdue (the rain that is). Getting ready to spend the day with a couple of girls is always something I look forward to. Lunch, shopping and of course to finish off with a nice cup of coffee in the late afternoon.

I felt quite happy when I woke up this morning so instead of keeping my hair straight and went and quickly curled it with my flat iron. Good old quick flat iron is the way I always curl my hair when just want to give it some loose curls and waves. No need to hassle with hot curlers or the curling tongs.

My make up is quite simple today because for such a nice day there is no need to pile on the makeup and my skin was being great, barely any blemishes at all! All photos were taken with natural light shining through my window so hopefully the colours really stand out or maybe not.

I primed, concealed and put on foundation before hand so go ahead and use the ones that suits you best. Earlier I did a quick review on the Maybelline eyshadow quad on Amethyst Smokey. I used the shimmer purple over the lids and the dark purple to crease and do the outer corners. I skipped the black because I didn’t want to make my eyes look so dark. Then used the white to highlight the brow and the inner corners (eye duct?) of my eyes. I mixed the two purple and lined half of the bottom lash line. Lining the whole lash line would have been too harsh so I only did half of it, where it was from thick to thin as I lined in towards the centre.

I did use eyeliner but I used Arezia diamond liquid eyeliner in purple (code 201437). It’s a glitter liner so you probably can’t really see it in the photos but it is there! I quickly whacked on mascara by Majorca. I added a bit of a pink shade to my cheeks from one of my Suki palettes that I bought in Hong Kong so you can really just pick which ever pink shades you prefer. I finished my lips with Maybelline colour sensation lipstick in Pink Sand (005) and Noir Blanc lip gloss with shea butter in shade number B433.

So here is the complete finish look with glasses on of course, was too lazy to put in my contacts. Sorry about my hair colour, it is way overdue for a recolour but I just got too busy and lazy about it so I left it alone.
