EOTD 12082011

Quickly dropping in to share an eye makeup look that I though was worth sharing and not the usual browns/neutral colours I'm ever so  fond of.

MAC e/s - Of the Page
MAC e/s - Purple Shower
Some Random Dark Purple e/s
Almay Black eyeliner pencil
Majolica Majorca Wing Mascara?

Anyway here are two photos of the colour combined.  Yep I'm still loving my orange and purple :D

HAve a great weekend everyone!

EOTD: Purple and a pop of Bronze

Just popping in quickly to share my EOTD for today.  I was rushing this morning so I didn't really have much time but I wanted something purple on the eyes today.  It is actually a fail and it didn't turn out the way I have pictured it to be and not to mention the rather shabby blending :S

Playing with some green eyeshadow

Yo!

Don't have an actual look to share since it the same as the usual everyday look.  I was playing around with green eyeshadows and this is what I came up with.  I only ended up doing one eye since I wasn't sure how this would turn out.

Anyway you might have noticed I have black brow, I would never walk around normally with brows that dark.  So the black brow is for the purpose of this look.  I thought a stronger brow would suit it better than the usual brow look I would wear normally.

just for fun :)

EOTD 08072011

Finally home from work and thought I should post up today's EOTD as well since I have time and before I pop into the shower the freshen up a bit.

For some reason I went with a darker look, I'm usually not a fan of black eyeshadow unless it is for a specific look... but I was in the mood for it today and I had to make it wearable as well.

Anyway this is what I wore for the whole day...

Black on the lid and then smoked out with a brown/taupe kind of colour

EOTD 07072011

Should of posted this yesterday, but I was so tired I just slept instead.  So that's why this is only coming up now.  Better a little late than never.  I hope I can keep up with my blogging even after my makeup course start.  It's going to be a tough cookie to get through since it's my final course and it goes all the way to the end of the year.  It's starting in like another 2 weeks so I'm excited yet kind of nevous as well.

I heard it's a full on course and you really have to put in a lot of time and effort into it.

Anyway let's get onto the important part of this actual post....

Picture Tutorial: Blue, Purple, Green and Black Eye Makeup

Computer is fixed! I just had to get a new PSU and it was up and running again. Thank god it was only just that, because I thought it was the motherboard and if it was then I was going to be in big trouble.

Anyway I didn’t like how this one turned out but I decided to post it anyway. I haven’t done anything this colourful in a long time now and I thought some of you guys might appreciate it.

I don’t remember what I used exactly, but I did take photos of the actual colours I use so I’m sure you guys can find dupes for it. I think if you own a 120 palette or even and 88 shimmer palette you’ll be able to find colours like it.

Step 1: Start off with a nice clean eye by ridding of excess oil on the lid

Hey!

Just popping in quickly to remind people I've posted up my 1 year Anniversayr Giveaway so check it out here:

Also please participate and vote here:

Anyway now onto some photos of two recent EOTD that I wore out during the day.  One is rather neutral/brown and the other is blue and green.

I rarely walk out during the day with bright eyes so it's good that this year I'm beginning to try more colours to wear out.

Bourjois Paris Smokey Eyes Palettes

I’m back to share some new products I bought and since then I haven’t bought another makeup product. Been at least 2 or 3 weeks now I think… so far so good…

Learning to reduce my spending and try to just live with what I own and I have to say I own a lot!

Bourjois Smokey Eyes Palettes comes in three different set of 3, I only got two since the other one was sold out at the store I got them from. I only remember paying half the price they normally sell it for so I thought it was alright to give myself a treat.

04 Nude Ingenu, 05 Rose Vintage
I bought 04 Nude Ingenu (browns) and 05 Rose Vintage (Pinks), however I have to be very honest after testing them. They’re not particularly great and I’ve seen reviews on them that were not very favourable towards this product. The pigmentation was alright, nothing great but lacking in some way. I’ve noticed that the lightest colour in both of them don’t really show up or have much pigmentation. They’re all shimmer base eyeshadow so there isn’t any love for matte colours.

The texture of the eyeshadows is smooth, but blending is such a pain that I would probably not use them much. You heard me right; I found blending the eyeshadow was harder than most drugstore eyeshadows. I know for a fact that it wasn’t because I wasn’t blending enough, I was blending like crazy but it just doesn’t really blend well at all.

Here are some swatches I did…

Top line is without any base or primer.

Second line is with Elf Mineral eyeshadow primer.

Third line is with NXY Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.

How do you guys like the new borders I add to the pictures?

Is anyone interested in seeing some swatches of e/s and gel liners from Inglot?

Should I do an update on my new makeup organisation?

Anyway thanks everyone single one of my followers for their continuous support :)

Recap of school in 2010 and recent creations

Hi!

Finally doing an actual post and I thought today I would share some work I’ve done when I was studying makeup last year in October to December. It was tough for me to go back to school since it been years since I’ve graduated from university. However this sort of schooling was a complete different experience. Mostly practical so it was a lot of practising at home to get things right. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and I’m definitely looking forward to the new course that is starting early February.

These beautiful eyes belongs to my good friend Astrid.  She has eyelashes that doesn't need to be curled!

Final Assessment was Bridal Photoshoot makeup!  Here is the finished product and hair is also by me :)

Now on to two recent creations I’ve done in my spare time, however my creative mind is not working.  It’s still on holiday and hasn’t returned to me yet which is quite upsetting for me.  No matter how much I want to play with makeup because I have free time at the moment, nothing ever comes to mind and things don’t turn out the right way.

Always had loved purple so first EOTD for 2011

Both of these were created on the same day when I was bored and could finally get something to turn up right

To finish off the post is a reminder to everyone that no one is perfect and I am definitely not perfect.  We’re all beautiful in our own way regardless if we wear makeup or not.  So here I share with you the very first naked photo of my face for 2011.

Fresh out of the shower with hair still wet.  Feeling quite naked :p

Jesse's Girl Stardust Powder Eyeshadow Swatches

I want to apologise for the laziness, not because I’m bored of blogging but I am absolutely blanked with what makeup I would like to show. I’ve been doing looks but I absolutely hate them or they don’t turn up like I want them too, thus I have nothing to share.

Anyway I stress first thing that everything I mention today is bought with my own money and they are not sponsored/free from Jesse’s Girl. I was not paid to do this review or show these swatches and everything here is based on my own opinion and experience with them. Therefore they may not be the same as other people who had already reviewed or swatched them.

6 colours to choose from

There are 6 shades in this series and each one cost US $4.49 each or you can get it in a set of 6 for US $24 (which is what I did). I actually bought these ages ago and put them aside to use another day and to share some swatches, but I cleaned the whole vanity and put them in the drawers…. Then I forgot them :p bad girl I am!

I find the packaging quite cute with a little bling star on the corner of the lid and a bonus for me is always a clear lid! That way when I do reach for them I can see which colour it is without having to open all of them to see. The plastic is not that thin flexible stuff and it feels really sturdy and strong, so I like that very much. Just beware though that all of these shades are shimmer/glitter shades so if you’re not a fan of that then these are definitely not for you. In the end I did find that the shades it was limited was a bit small, so hopefully in the future there will be more colours to choose from.

Pretty shimmer/glitter shine to the eyeshadows

The pigmentation of these eyeshadows is amazing!  I love them and even without a base under them they are great.  The black (Galaxy) without a base is a little on the powdery/chalky side but with a base it is wonderful.  The eyeshadow is really soft and smooth so when you apply it, it doesn’t feel chunky or chalky and they blend fairly easily as well.  Check out the photos for the swatches and you might just see what I mean.

I’ve finally got hit by the Christmas spirit and greens popped into my head. For those who have followed I for a while now would probably know that I’m not a big fan of green. However this one turned out pretty well so I’m satisfied as of now.
